Trash Polka is easily one of the most creative and easily one of the most unique tattoo artists in the world. His work is able to be recognized as a diamond in the rough in the surface of a pile of garbage.
There’s something so cool about a tattoo, the idea of being able to express yourself that way, to transform your body into an art piece, to chronicle your life in ink. Tattoos are more than just a small, painful commitment to a specific memory though. They are a way to express yourself, to make a statement, and the more personal the better.
I’m a big fan of people who create cool custom tattoos. Everything from the woodcuts of the Bauhaus movement to the modern works of the likes of Shepard Fairey and Banksy all help to make us look at the world in fresh ways. While the latest craze, trash polka, might be a bit more mainstream than some of the other custom tattoos available, it’s the one that I’ve been paying the closest attention to.
